Most animal shelters don’t recommend adopting an animal as a gift, and I definitely agree, but virtually adopting/supporting an animal or an animal cause is a great idea for anyone who is an animal or conservation lover. Defenders of Wildlife and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) offer ways you can virtually adopt a wild animal. You can also always make a donation to a national or your local animal shelter, zoo or conservation organization. The ASPCA and/or the National Humane Society are wonderful organizations to consider.
